
More power to ‘em. They were antithetical to prog and the idea that more is more. But somehow they managed to create a mythology more often associated with prog/metal bands like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Led Zeppelin. Some of that was due to the early death of Bon Scott, much of it to the menacing presence of Angus Young. AC/DC cultivated an image of dissolute, dark disciples who were having a hell of a time on earth. Somehow, the very mention of the devil implies fantasy and supernatural forces, which (as we know) is the domain of prog. So here they are: one of the loudest, rawest, lowest rungs of the ladder on the staircase to higher consciousness.
