A whiter shade of Parsons than I’m used to seeing. Melodrama isn’t my middle name anyway (Vaughan is) so ballads bounce off me like rubber bullets. (Let’s see: Got the references to Procol Harum and 10cc in there? Check.) The A side runs about a minute shorter than the elpee version thanks to a clumsy fade after the second theme (a la 10cc, since we wouldn’t invoke ‘em for nothing) is introduced. The B side is the instrumental “I Robot” (both songs are from the album of the same name), which is actually the better song. It’s identical to the elpee version, but nobody bothers with tightening the belt of a B side.
