P erhaps the Project’s finest moment, “Time” is a lovely way to pass it. The strings and masked vocals push this close to ELO territory, two bands who helped redefine pop music in the ‘70s. Ironically, the A side shows an incorrect track time of 4:11; the actual time is closer to 4:23, which still represents a slight edit from the five-minute original. The B side is the instrumental track “The Gold Bug,” which takes its name from an Edgar Allen Poe short story. It appears “The Gold Bug” was also issued as a single in Europe, making this single something of a two-fer. Both tracks come from The Turn of a Friendly Card.
