Pop artists in the original sense, The Art of Noise took non-musical elements from popular culture and used them to make music. Often overstimulated, their creations could not be easily overlooked: "Close (To The Edit)," "Paranoimia," "Peter Gunn." In small doses, intoxicating stuff, especially if you believe that Kraftwerk, OMD and Was (Not Was) were smarter than the rest of us.
