A nd now you find yourself in ’82 (again). In lieu of labeling styles of music, I find myself internally labeling musical phenomena, especially in terms of singles. “Heat of the Moment” represents a somewhat rare phenomenon: a single from a quote/unquote prog band that didn’t need to be edited down from its original version. That should give you some inkling into the commercial nature of this venture: “Heat of the Moment” was likely conceived as a single from the get-go. The B side is actually a nonalbum track (one of the more common phenomena, but also one of the more interesting), which I seem to keep missing. Oh well, one of these days.
