Automatic Man
Bayete's bid to be a rock star included Asia's Pat Thrall, Santana's Michael Shrieve and Doni Harvey. The band's space rock/funk sound placed them somewhere between the jazz/disco and prog/pop camps, similar to The Tubes and Utopia but with an added cultural fusion. Bayete and Thrall were joined by a new rhythm section for Visitors, after which the band broke up. Beginning in 2004, the band's albums were reissued on CD, which hopefully allows future generations to tune into this underrated outfit.
