The B-52's
The B-52's never dropped anything so heavy as "Rock Lobster" on the world again. They were the friendly ambassadors of the new wave movement that included Gang of Four, X and Devo. Unlike those acts, however, The B-52's didn't really have a whole lot of musical talent (sorry). What they did have was moxie (what am I, ninety?) and style, eventually broadening their sci-fi imagery to include psychedelia (and always with tongue in cheek). They really are overrated, but what sort of monster would begrudge the lovable B-52's success?
