Progrography

Camper Van Beethoven
Along with bands like Butthole Surfers and Pixies, CVB laid the foundation for the noisy art wing of the wax musueum. The early albums were a mess of influences: garage rock, ethnic folk music, Frank Zappa and psychedelia. With their eponymous third album, the tuneful side of CVB emerged: "Good Guys & Bad Guys," "Eye of Fatima." After five albums, the Campers went packing, with lead singer David Lowery forming Cracker and most of the rest of the band joining Monks of Doom. They re-formed in 2004 for one album, New Roman Times.
