Y ou have to hand it to The Cars, rarely have synthesizers and guitars coexisted so peacefully. At the time, this was the band’s highest-charting single in the US (“Shake It Up” of all things eventually topped it). As a bonus, the band tacked a half-baked goodie on the B side, “That’s It,” exclusive to this single. A left-of-center melody makes it mildly amusing, but you’ll understand why it missed the album cut when you hear it. Eventually, it turned up on Rhino’s double-disc anthology, Just What I Needed.
