I t was touch and go there for a little while, but this single played okay, pops and all. And singles were meant to be played, not kept in plastic sleeves and fussed over like little lapdogs, so I’m not complaining. The A side is an edited version of the elpee track, a full minute shorter at the expense of the original’s drawn-out ending. The flip side is identical to the elpee version. I’m pretty sure that Ric Ocasek sings the lead on “Touch And Go” and Benjamin Orr sings the lead on “Down Boys.” Maybe I’m getting the hang of these Cars after all.
