Kluster/Cluster
Kluster with a "K" until Conrad with a "C" saw fit to split, so the Teutonic twosome of Moebius and Roedelius (noting that nothing is constant) changed a consonant and became Cluster. Yet the band remained a continental confection of electronic perfection until a pairing with the Anagrammatic One (Eno) -- coincidental with his work with recent emigre David Bowie -- catapulted the band's work to US and UK audiences. Cluster disbanded in the early '80s, with Dieter Moebius and Hans-Joachim Roedelius both pursuing prolific solo careers. They regrouped briefly in the '90s for some live performances.
