S ince the Eric Clapton comparisons are inevitable anyway, let’s compare. Clapton’s debut produced one single (“After Midnight”) and three hits (“Let It Rain,” “Blues Power”). Mason’s produced three singles and one hit (“Only You And I Know”). Honestly, I’d give Alone Together the nod as the better album, but not based on the two tracks here. “Waitin’ On You” is one of those minor minstrel/revival shows from the ‘70s that the Bramletts were known for. “Just A Song” plays a little lighter and cooler. They’re pretty good songs, but nothing that Clapton or Stephen Stills weren’t using for filler on their records too.
