B owie didn’t do much more than put “China Girl” in a pair of jeans, but it was still worth getting jazzed about. “Blue Jean” is far and away the best thing about Tonight. The flip side, “Dancing With The Big Boys,” is more indicative of Bowie’s music in the ‘80s: big bark, no bite. Since both are on the skinny side, the extended dance remixes are more welcome than most. Note that the original elpee versions of Tonight (in the US anyway) included this single as a freebie in black vinyl. A blue vinyl version was available separately.
