A cherry of a cameo for Bowie on Bing Crosby’s 1977 Christmas special was harvested five years later as a single, nearly topping the British charts. While on vinyl it retains some holiday warmth, those who saw the televised appearance (circulated as a standalone video to support the single and later included on the 1995 Oglio release) would agree that it’s more suited to Halloween than Christmas. In keeping with the mothball motif, “Fantastic Voyage” was taken out of storage and pressed into service on the flip side.
