S pokesongs from The Catherine Wheel, you’re in for a big treat if you haven’t heard these yet. Here are three of the funkier tracks from the score, cohabiting the lands of avant garde twitchiness and the Tom Tom Club’s playful abandon. The eye-opening “My Big Hands” and an Eno-esque surf song of sorts in “Big Blue Plymouth” are identical to the elpee versions, so the only new treat is the dance mix of “Big Business.” It still sounds like an update of “Life During Wartime,” now taking time to loiter in its exploration of rhythmic possibilities. Given that the full-length score was already halved in an edited version, 3 Big Songs is just the tip of the iceberg.
