Dieter Moebius started out with Kluster (later Cluster), a German electronic band. Though never as popular as Tangerine or Kraftwerk, Cluster did build an audience around albums like Zuckerzeit and Sowiesoso (and expanded on that through a pair of albums with Brian Eno). Moebius has always felt free to collaborate with other artists, including Karl Renzeihausen, Michael Rother, Conrad Plank, Gerd Beerbohm and Mani Neumeir. He released Blotch at the end of 1999.
