S ongfacts’ll tell you that this song is about the relationship between Glenn Frey and Don Henley, which makes for nice mythology, though as we all found out Eagles didn’t make it, folding soon after this album. However, the song also worked on the level of a relationship between man and woman, which is likely how most listeners perceived it. The flip side is “The Disco Strangler,” an improbably tight song as was the other Felder contribution to the album, “Those Shoes.”
