S elected as the advance single from Time, “Hold On Tight” cloyed my ears with its sugary revival of rockabilly, but the paying public apparently couldn’t get enough of the sweet stuff, sending it up the charts. If that wasn’t annoying enough, Lynne revives the first stanza in French. Est-ce que c’est une bonne idee? Pas en vos reves. The flip side was a nonalbum track, “When Time Stood Still,” that makes the single a slight collectible. I say “slight” because it’s not a great track, kind of a second-rate “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.” It was also later made available on the triple-disc compilation Afterglow. A promotional 12-inch released in the US apparently includes a “Pre-Release Montage” (whatever that means) on the flip side.
