A livin’, breathin’ example of why A New World Record rocks. “Livin’ Thing” was the first single from A New World Record and slipped into the US/UK Top 20 without so much as a question mark. The UK single featured Face The Music’s “Fire On High” as the B side, while the US single pressed Third’s “Ma-Ma-Ma Belle” back into service. That song is credited to Ole ELO as it features the slightly shorter version from that compilation rather than the 3:52 original from On The Third Day. As of the holiday season 2005, "Livin' Thing" is being used to promote gift-buying junkets to JC Penney. Ho ho ho's.
