Family
One of those prog-adopted English rock bands whose unconventional sound and ambitious arrangements defied easy categorization, but were never wedded to the prog aesthetic of classical cum rock music. Roger Chapman's voice has been described by Rolling Stone as a "grating, goatish vibrato," fair warning that Family isn't for the faint of heart. They disbanded in 1973, with Roger Chapman and Charlie Whitney forming the band Streetwalkers. Various Family members have turned up in all manner of acts, including Blind Faith, King Crimson and Medicine Head.
