K ronomyth 3.1: TWILIGHT’S LAST GLEAMING. In the waning hours of Twilight, the final incarnation of Fashion twinkled in the nightsky with “Eye Talk” and was gone. Alan Darby’s lowbrow observation on the art of flirting is actually a pretty decent track; a notch better than the product on Fabrique anyway. As a lead singer, Darby leaves a lot to be desired, but as a songwriter he’s an upgrade over De Harriss. Producer Zeus B. Held, one of the few holdovers from Fabrique, gives it his golden touch: cutting-edge synthesizers, crisp guitars and faux fretless bass. Both sides of this single (and, by extension, Twilight of Idols) should appeal to connoisseurs of new romantic music--the kind of folks whose ears prick up at the sound of Visage or Classix Nouveaux. Sure it’s style over substance, but the band was called Fashion not Filosofy. There's also a video of the band lip-synching this on the UK show Razzamatazz.
