P ur absolut product. This one was written by professional songwriters Johnny Cymbal and Austin Roberts. Roberts actually used to write songs for Hanna Barbera, including Josie and the Pussycats. I think the Pussycats turned this one down, and the kids from Jabberjaw were going to record it as “I’m Drinkin’ Canada Dry (Until I’m Old Enough to Score Some F*ckin’ Horse and Cover Up the Needle Holes with a Kickass Shark Tattoo)” when the Burrito Brothers swooped in and sent it sailing right up the tight top 40 country chart. Honestly, it’s a good tune if you like country music. Wait a minute, I mean IF you like country music. There, that’s better. Because you probably don’t. Not that country music isn’t clever, it’s just kind of depressing. For example, this song is about a guy whose woman decides she wants to become a singer so he follows her on tour, only to lose her and drink away his sorrow hoping she’ll come back to him. Or, short of that, his testicles.
