I ’d tell you that this isn’t the best thing about 4, but I’m not gonna win that argument. “Waiting For A Girl Like You” is a beautiful ballad, minus the usual misogyny that plagued most of Foreigner’s previous romantic forays. The single is actually fourteen seconds shorter than the elpee version. Lest you trouble yourself over the missing fourteen seconds, know that they just fade the song a little early. It is also the last satellite of substance around Kronomyth 4.0, arriving shortly after “Juke Box Hero” was sighted in the UK quadrant. The band later did the ballad one better with “I Want To Know What Love Is,” at which point the Foreigner ballad (“I Don’t Want To Live Without You,” “Until The End of Time”) became a fate accompli.
