The Golden Palominos
Horses of a different color, The Golden Palominos were led by drummer Anton Fier (Lounge Lizards, Pere Ubu, etc.) and featured a loose core of plays that eventually solidified around Robert Kidney, Nicky Skopelitis and Bill Laswell. A series of female singers also drifted in and out: Syd Straw, Amanda Kramer, Lori Carson. They're a hard band to pin down stylistically, but on what I've heard they sound a cross between Monks of Doom and The Breeders if Don Dixon produced them.
