T his first appeared in the film Mannequin, and has a suitably plastic soul. I’ve never liked this song, probably never will, and nothing’s gonna stop me from disliking it. Featuring Mickey Thomas and Grace Slick on vocals, it’s apparently a Starship song in name only. (For more on that, see Songfacts.) Still, while hundreds of thousands of Americans can be wrong, it’s not wise to contradict them (as recent history shows). The B side is a live version of “Layin’ It On The Line” recorded at, I kid you not, Louisiana State University’s Stopher Gym. Sounds like it, too.
