R unning a full minute-and-a-half less than the elpee version, the single edit of “Runaway” is worth chasing if you’re a collector. They seem to have spliced the first half and the ending together, excising the second ‘go round that appeared after the guitar solo. Marty Balin apparently heard another SF-area band play this song, and asked the songwriter (Nicholas Q. Dewey) if you he could record it. (Thank you, all-knowing Internet.) The flip side is the elpee version of “Hot Water” from Spitfire, a rare cross-pollination of Bs from the band.
