D rop the mahout indeed (an elephant driver for those of you without the Jumbo edition of Webster’s). “Drop The Pilot” was never one of my favorites from Joan. I found it too noisy and aggressive (the whole album, really), which would also apply to “Business Is Business,” a track from The Key sessions (presumably) that was finished but got locked out when The Key was made. It’s better than most nonalbum B sides if only because it clearly is a finished product. However, I wouldn’t make a full-time career of tracking this one down, as it’s no better than the filler that made The Key in the first place.
