German pioneers asked the question: What is music? The answer was initially startling (Radioactivity), then troubling (Trans-Europe Express, The Man Machine) and ultimately entertaining (Computer World). Kraftwerk was widely influential, affecting artists from David Bowie on down to Gary Numan. The members continue to record today in outfits like Elektric Music and Yamo.
