T his is why God created the 12-string guitar. My brother learned to play the acoustic intro on his 12-string and it was his “Stairway To Heaven” moment for me, where I was genuinely impressed that he could play something I knew and liked. Unfortunately, the intro to “Free Will” proved more problematic (and, after all, John couldn’t carry the whole band). “Dancing Days” appears on the other side; I wouldn’t call it the B side because it probably got at least as much radio play as “Over The Hills And Far Away.” Both tracks are identical to the elpee versions. You don’t mess with perfection.
