T his is a remix of the Mistrial track, also referred to as the “Special AOR Remix,” released as a promotional 12-inch (presumably to radio stations). It’s not as raw as the elpee version, now featuring horns and a smoother vocal delivery from Lou. However, the lyrics didn’t change, and Lou’s tale of a society whose worst appetites are fed by the media was still too forthright for the diluted moral outrage of the ‘80s. Fortunately, there will always be radio stations that play alternative tracks like this, as the would-be Anton Mesmers of the media have little interest in a medium with such weak magnetism.
