Material
The feverish brainchild of Bill Laswell, Material is a loose collective of like-out-of-their-minded artists along the lines of The Golden Palominos. The band began as an experimental trio of Laswell, Fred Maher and Michael Beinhorn, but soon morphed into a larger organism that assimilated funk, jazz, rock and world musicians with sometimes stunning results (Hallucination Engine).
