T his is an interview disc to promote Mick’s first (and to date only) solo album, Mick Jones. Jones is at ease, charming, while interviewer Dan Neer (who appears on the first side) is pleasant and intelligent. Not much for Foreigner fans here, save for how Mick met Dennis Elliott (through Ian Hunter’s band). There is a little background on the songs that appear on Mick Jones the album, which I haven’t heard (yet). That’s right, I actually bought an interview disc to promote an album I don’t own. Couldn’t pass it up for a dollar, but I did get the sneaking suspicion while listening to this that perhaps I need to get a life. By contrast, sounds like Mick’s got an interesting one. Note that the album features the natural Q&A session on the first side, and Mick’s responses only on the flip (in case DJs wanted to queue up some sparkling tidbit for the radio, I guess).
