Progrography

Midge Ure
Midge is in some ways the Steve Winwood of his generation, an instrumental/vocal talent who appeared in two of the Synth Age's most influential bands (Visage, Ultravox) before settling into the role of solo artist. Ure broke big into the mainstream as the co-author of Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas?," which he and Bob Geldof organized. The Gift, released in 1985 shortly before the final U-Vox album, set the stage for a trio of socially conscious, polyrhythmic synth pop works (Answers To Nothing, Pure). In 2008, Ure released an album of covers entitled 10; he hasn't released any original solo material since 2000's Move Me.
