Oingo Boingo
One of the early I.R.S. acts who saved the 80s from totally sucking, Oingo Boingo also got a slot on the seminal Urgh! A Music War film. The band actually had their roots in the earlier Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo, but under Danny Elfman they trimmed down to a svelte 8-piece and made hyperactive koolaid for the kiddies like "Only A Lad" and "Ain't This The Life." That was enough to get me hooked. The band wound down in 1994 as Elfman devoted most of his energy to writing film scores.
