T hose watching the skies for signs of the thin white duke had to settle for another UFO (underwhelming film opener) sighting, this time with the Pat Metheny Group in tow. It would have seemed an unlikely alliance, except that after the collaborations with Giorgio Moroder and Nile Rodgers and Queen anything seemed possible. The B side is an instrumental version that, as far as I know, simply removes the vocal tracks. The instrumental version is not available on the soundtrack to The Falcon And The Snowman, and you shouldn’t care either way. This is not what Bowie or Metheny are all about.
