Patrick Moraz
Classically trained keyboardist Patrick Moraz came to national attention when he replaced Rick Wakeman in Yes. Prior to that, he had played in Refugee. Moraz only appears on one Yes album, Relayer, although his live work did show up on Yesshows some years later. When the band went on hiatus following Relayer, Moraz lent his support to solo albums from Steve Howe and Chris Squire. As the '80s began, Moraz was tapped to become Mike Pinder's replacement in The Moody Blues, recording five albums with that band before leaving in 1992. Though best-known as a member of these bands, Patrick Moraz has released a number of solo albums over the years, including two collaborations with drummer Bill Bruford. Moraz' work tends to fuse Latin themes with electronic and classical arrangements, a style which has cultivated some fans but eluded commercial success in the US and UK.
