B ehold the breadth and depth of my Paul Carrack collection. How Long before I add to it? Well, let’s just say I haven’t been Tempted so far. This is light, inoffensive soul pop that would constitute filler on a Nick Lowe or Ian Gomm album (largely because their gruff voices would bury it). It sparkles under the patronage of Paul Carrack, like freshly minted cotton candy. The lyrics are terrible by the way (“I need you like a sharp needs to shoot”). For many of us, all the Paul Carrack you’ll ever need.
