Y et another in a storied line of patchwork pop epics (“Live And Let Die,” “Band on the Run”), the combination of “Venus And Mars” and “Rock Show” was nearly cut in half and released as a single. It’s not the hatchet job you might expect, excising the middle section (“The lights go down...”) and the long ending to keep the combo at a manageable three-and-a-half minutes (the original coupling ran over six minutes). The B side is “Magneto And Titanium Man” in its entirety, a song that never fails to make me smile.
