H eartbreaking all right. The A-side is a polished, almost sophisticated piece of rock that reminds me of Thompson Twins but with fuller production. The 7” has been remixed since the original LP version, by the way. New Dream sounds for the life of me like Tin Machine, largely because Richard Butler does an amazing job of imitating Bowie’s voice. It’s a solid B-side (I actually prefer it over “Heartbreak Beat”) that didn’t appear on the Midnight to Midnight album, though it did appear on the subsequent B-Sides... compilation.
