I thought this would be a cover of the Rick Vito song that McGuinn, Clark & Hillman did so well. Nope. That song was actually well-suited to a male/female duet. “Surrender To Me” is bear-with-its-foot-caught-in-a-trap bad. It makes “The Flame” seem cool by comparison. In fact, I’ve... well, you get the point. The B side is typical faux-jazz movie music from Tequila Sunrise (which is where the A side comes from too) credited to Dave Grusin and Lee Ritenour. I suppose this single is less painful than the entire soundtrack to Tequila Sunrise, which is probably less painful than the movie, which is probably less painful than a Michelle Pfieffer pfilm pfestival.
