Robyn Hitchcock
One of the more pleasing discoveries you'll make in the English garden of pop eccentrics is Robyn Hitchcock. Think of Julian Cope or Syd Barrett crossed with XTC's tuneful oddities, and you've got a whiff of his unique bouquet. Most of his albums are good for a few swell tunes, absurdly themed and often absurdly catchy: "My Wife & My Dead Wife," "Madonna of the Wasps," "Veins of the Queen," etc. If you thought John Lennon was the most interesting Beatle, you'll want to bottle Robyn.
