T he ultra-smooth “Dance Away” became the big hit from Manifesto, nearly topping the UK charts and cracking into the US Top 40. In the UK, “Cry Cry Cry” was the flip side; in the US, “Trash 2” appeared on the back (it had earlier appeared as the UK flip side to the album track “Trash”). As you might expect, “Trash 2” is simply an alternate version of the album track, here rendered slower. Since you could probably achieve the same effect by playing “Trash” at a lower speed, I wouldn’t make acquiring “Trash 2” a priority. Note that the US single credits Bob Clearmountain with the remix on “Dance Away.” However, this isn’t a remix from the original elpee version; probably just righting the omission of Bob’s name from the Manifesto elpee credits.
