H onestly, the A side was never one of my favorites, too much soul for me. (I always found the Tower of Power, whose horn section appears on this song, a little intimidating.) Still, it always shows up on compilations, so someone must like it. Better is the mesmerizing “Guajira,” one of those chant fusions that slips into the mind as an arresting mist of music. Both tracks are identical to the versions found (side by side) on the third Santana elpee.
