Sepultura
I remember getting my first tattoo mostly because it was the first time I heard Sepultura. The album was Beneath The Remains, the tattoo a predictable skull and snake over a heart. Sepultura was a little more melodic than most death metal bands, so their gradual shift to groove/thrash/whatever metal wasn't so surprising. These days they sound more like Pantera than Pestilence, with US-born Derrick Green handling the (as always) English vocals.
