Progrography

Steppenwolf
The band's legacy would seem to rest on two singles: "Born To Be Wild" and "Magic Carpet Ride." Often referred to as a biker band, Steppenwolf was in fact a psychedelic blues-rock band in the mold of Spirit, Traffic, etc. From 1968 to 1970, they released seven Top 40 albums. By 1972, they were another psychedelic casualty. Singer John Kay released a couple of solo albums, then resurrected the brand as John Kay & Steppenwolf.
