Progrography

Stewart Copeland
The Police drummer's solo career actually started shortly after that band's first album, with a pair of singles in 1978 as the pseudonymous Klark Kent (a mini-album compilation followed in 1980). Sounding like a raw, rushed version of The Police, the Kent tracks suggested a fun alter ego that never materialized on subsequent solo albums. Instead, Copeland seems to have taken the high road shared by his fellow Police-men, releasing an album of African music (The Rhythmatist) and forming a short-lived jazz fusion outfit with Stanley Clarke, Animal Logic, before committing himself to full-time soundtrack work.
