T he 1980s were not exactly the best time to be a prog fan, and songs like this didn’t help matters. In fact, there really isn’t anything to distinguish “The Best of Times” from the ranks of faceless rock songs that were stormtrooping over the airwaves. Not that Paradise Theater isn’t a good album, but it’s soooo 80s. The B side for this single was the opening “Lights” from Cornerstone, which is frankly the better song.
