T odd’s (technically) first solo hit was “We Gotta Get You A Woman” from the album Runt. Unlike some of Todd’s early hits, this has disappeared from the radio, sounding like a brittle version of “It Wouldn’t Have Made Any Difference” with lyrics that are less than enlightened (though perhaps tongue in cheek). The medley on the B side is a kitchen sink with one tasty dish to its credit, “The Last Thing You Said.” Although this single is very close to the music found on Something/Anything?, I can think of at least half a dozen better songs from that opus. Of interest, this may be the only single Runt/Rundgren released on Ampex.
