Tom Tom Club
The happy half of the Heads on hiatus in da Bahamas. Their debut album had several Weymouths to feed (Tinalanilauraloric aloha) and arrived at a vocal style that suggested the typing pool after too many pina coladas. When they released "Genius of Love" (one of the best singles from the early '80s), it seemed that Tom Tom Club might march into the mainstream with their club creds, pop charm and offhand artiness. But their second album failed to generate the same excitement, and it was back to work for Chris and Tina. The pair have revived the club after the talking ceased, adding new members to the club along the way.
