Toni Childs
One of those intelligent, distinctive female singers who invariably end up singing duets with Peter Gabriel. I find her voice more difficult than it need be, annoying actually, but the production is always top notch, often featuring outstanding guest musicians from proggy quarters like David Rhodes, Steve Hogarth and Robert Fripp. There is no audible prog connection, however, and the old codger's impression I usually have is that Alannah Myles has mistakenly wandered into a WOMAD festival.
